The Event: Lions LSUHSC Low Vision Center is hosting their 2nd annual Low Vision Gala fundraiser. This year the gala will be held in the intimate and elegant setting of Natalie Fine Art at 829 Royal Street. The gala will feature food from various New Orleans restaurants and music. Angela Hill of WWL-TVwill once again host the event along with Honorary Chairpersons Dr. Herbert and Maija Kaufman. Why: In cooperation with LSU Eye Center and Lions Clubs International Foundation, the Lions LSUHSC Low Vision Center was established in 2006 to fulfill a need for comprehensive care for the visually impaired individuals in our state. The Lions LSUHSC Low Vision Center provides help and hope to those patients who are visually impaired as a result of eye disease or injury. Through the services of low vision specialists many patients are able to resume the activities they had given up after their vision loss. Their independence and quality of life improves. Patients are often unable to afford the devices they need. Through the generosity of Lions Clubs International Foundation, local Lions Clubs, and our supporters, we are able to provide the low vision equipment that will make a difference in their lives at little or no cost to the patient.
